Today's post is a small watercolor sketch done in 2005. I am really enjoying posting works that are older and more obscure. I have begun to photograph old sketchbooks from way back...even some old high school drawings. This blog is quickly becoming a retrospective exhibit. I am having fun resurrecting my past work.

Space Girl

A page, dated 1-01-1999, from one of my many sketchbooks. At this time I was employed as an animator, so I was always creating comic genre images. I still enjoy the comic / Sci-Fi super hero, and on occasion continue to create these types of images.

My, but she has a long neck! A canvas covered with heavy texture and rich color. This little girl is one of my first works completed in 2008.

Purple bra

A work from 1995 that is still available for purchase. I am finding myself playing with similar works again, I have so many ideas and not enough hours in the day to realize them all. I am currently sketching and toying with the idea of doing some paintings inspired by 1960's comic illustrations. If all goes well, I will post the completed pictures.....wish me luck.

The Final Cut

As a college student in 1983, I painted this as a response to the arms race. The music group, Pink Floyd had an album out titled "The Final Cut" that addressed this theme, and this is where the title of the painting comes from. This piece is owned by my cousin in Cincinnati Ohio.

Three Graces

This is a digital render using 3dsMax. I do a lot of experimental digital work. I haven't yet shown these to the public, but I figure now that I am keeping a blog, I can show off some of my out of the ordinary work.

Way back in the mid 1980s, I did several large collages of cut magazines, paper, photos, money, etc. Basically anything that could be glued down. I then lacquered them with a heavy thick varnish. These were quite large, I even did one on and old closet door. All have been sold, and there whereabouts are unknown. You can click this image to see a larger version.
